i'm mixing things up a bit.
the solstice/christmas season is here.
i truly live for each season change.
in my head i have these plans for how my season will be.
i imagine myself sitting in front of our fireplace or woodstove knitting and drinking hot chocolate or coffee.
i imagine myself making all of my favorite treats.
i imagine myself spending hours watching all of my favorite christmas movies.
i imagine myself with my friends drinking delicious wine.
i imagine myself giving every single person something that is handmade.
i imagine myself enjoying every single minute of the season.
*********
just one problem:
i often get so caught up in the handmaking of every single tiny item that i often miss so many of the greatest moments of this season.
i get so caught up in going through the motions of the season that i dont really enjoy the season.
i get so busy making more plans, writing more lists.....
i get so busy busy busy and before you know it, the season is over.
***********
this year i am going to make some end of the year resolutions.
yes, those are the type of resolutions that you can keep.
a 31 item list of things that i want to do during the christmas and solstice season and the last of 2011 that i have always wanted to do during this season.
but the main resolution on the list is to enjoy every moment of this season.
and the second resolution is to stay simple: read: not handknit something for everyone i know.
i will be sharing these resolutions here.
i am pretty darn excited.
